What Is Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery?
Laparoscopic hernia repair uses 3–4 small incisions (typically 1 cm or less) through which a laparoscope and instruments are inserted. The abdomen is gently inflated with carbon dioxide to create a working space. The hernia is repaired, often with a synthetic mesh over the weakened area, secured with sutures or fixation.
